On the occasion of upcoming International Women’s Day of March 8th 2018, Rural Enterprises and Remittances Project (RERP) organized a one day Gender Sensitivity Orientation program with an objective to build gender sensitive and safer work place. The program was attended by entire RERP project staffs. Project Manager Mr. Saroj Guragain highlighted on the sensitivity of the gender issues and its significance in the workplace.
All attendees of the program very actively participated and brought discussion points into the fore such as on how inter-personal behavior is significant attribute for the maintenance of dignity and due respect towards any individual within the workplace, discipline to be perceived through respectful communication, discouraging any kind of harassment in workplace and its possible solution mechanism at RERP in handling grievances and misconducts.
In the program, Employee Code of Conduct was also presented, discussed and agreed for its implementation. Economic Inclusion Coordinator at Project Management Office was appointed as focal person with the responsibility to proceed compliance and grievances to the management.
The final session was comprised with a mini celebration on upcoming International Women’s Day. All female staffs were appreciated with a token of appreciation from the office management team. Admin and Finance Section concluded the Program by presenting PowerPoint presentation on Government of Nepal’s administrative and financial procedure and related information.
