A 65 day long Tailoring Level-1 training Conducted

A 65 day long Tailoring Level-1 training, conducted under SAMRIDDHI Project in collaboration with Itahari sub metropolitan city in ward number 5, was closed on 17th September 2021. In the closure ceremony which was held in the premises of Jyoti Higher Secondary School, there was participation of Deputy Mayor, Chairperson and members of ward 5, Team Leader and members of Technical Assistance team of subcomponent 1.3 (Decent Jobs).

Principal of Janjyoti Higher Secondary School, media representatives along with the representatives of the training and employment service provider MSED Private Limited, instructors and graduates. The training participants were provided tool and equipment support jointly by the office of Itahari sub metropolitan city office through ‘Deputy Mayor Self Reliance Programme’ and office of ward no 5 in the very beginning of the training start-up. As a distinguished guest of the ceremony, the Deputy Mayor Mrs. Laxmi Gautam recalled the time when the coordination with SAMRIDDHI for skills training began. She acknowledged the coordination as a reason behind numbers of successful skills training events and appreciated SAMRIDDHI Programme for its emphasis on employment following the training completion. And urged all participants to use their skills for earning.

Team Leader of TA team, Mr. Bal Mukund Neupane on behalf of HELVETAS Nepal also thanked the local government for collaboration, cooperation and timely feedback and emphasized on employment as being the main purpose of the training. As a chairperson of the ceremony, the president of ward no 5, Mr. Kalyan Karki stated on the ward’s immediate plan to support graduates for employment by providing them a hall and machines to start their work. Appreciating the skills training package of SAMRIDDHI, he also revealed the aspiration of the ward to continue such result-based trainings to make women and disadvantaged groups self-reliant in upcoming days as well.
