RERP implements Financial Education and Entrepreneurial Knowledge (FEEK) in the rural communities of Nepal

Rural Enterprises and Remittances Project (RERP/SAMRIDDHI) a multidimensional project is initiated by Government of Nepal│Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Supplies and International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD).

The project aims at reducing poverty with employment-focused and inclusive economic development by providing sustainable sources of income to poor households, migrant families and returnees through creation of micro, small, and rural medium-sized enterprises, as a means of developing local businesses and creating jobs.

Rural Finance/Financial Inclusion as one of the major components of the project intends to strengthen the capacities of the financial institutions through training and technical assistance to improve the access to finance to rural community.

Project works with the cooperatives on one hand and with regulated financial institutions on the other, which is either directly lending to the project target population, or are using cooperatives to channel their resources.

The Rural Finance theme in RERP includes total outreach 50,000 people in project areas benefiting from Financial Education and Entrepreneurial Knowledge (FEEK) trainings i.e. business skills and financial literacy training.

Through FEEK training, community builds a large base of financially literate savers, investors, and entrepreneurs. RERP has been implementing this training through project partnered Cooperatives aimed at serving large numbers of individuals in its priority local institutions i.e Palikas, with a variety of interests and characteristics that influence the scope and level of financial education and business skills most useful to them.

This is 18-hours training courses designed to be implemented 3 hours a day for 6 days or 6 hours a day for 3 days.
