The FNCCI Koshi Province has launched an innovative database system designed to collect and analyze data on the regional industrial labor market. This system facilitates systematic Rapid Market Assessments to identify and quantify demand trends within the industrial sector, providing crucial evidence-based insights for FNCCI, governmental bodies, and non-governmental organizations.
This initiative is supported by the Rural Enterprise and Remittance Project (RERP) under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies (MoICS), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and with technical assistance from HELVETAS Nepal. It has garnered significant interest from key stakeholders, including local governments, relevant agencies, and industries.
At the launch event, a live demonstration showcased the web application’s capabilities in tracking and analyzing labor demand. The system is currently being piloted in Koshi Province, with over 300 member industries participating. This intuitive and user-friendly platform offers valuable insights into industrial job market trends, aiding provincial and local governments in planning effective vocational programs and providing a solid foundation for other organizations with similar goals. Additionally, the data collected will be instrumental in formulating evidence-based policies and supporting policy advocacy efforts.
FNCCI and its partners are dedicated to leveraging this database to build a robust job market, improve apprenticeship training programs, and streamline job placements. This collaborative effort aims to enhance workforce development and address labor market needs more efficiently.
