RERP creates investment opportunities for migrant workers to save and invest in Nepal

17th August, 2020: RER Project and Nagarik Lagani Kosh(NLK) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in providing specialized remittances-based investment product that is expected to expand investment opportunities for migrant workers to save and invest in Nepal.

In the RER Project influenced area, around 60% of population are from migrants' households. RERP therefore, intends to provide specialized technical and financial assistance to NLK in integrating and customizing its core software/MIS in order to provide remittances-based services to its prospective clients. 

It is expected that with the launch of this web-based services, migrant worker especially from the Gulf Cooperation Council(GCC) countries will be enabled in making more productive use of the money from overseas having used for a better and more secure future for themselves and their families.

For example, the migrant worker from abroad can make a decision how much portion of remittance money to spend on their families need and save or invest through NLK.

This service further, expands opportunities for migrant workers and clients residing outside especially from Middle East countries who wants to participate in the various investments and saving schemes offered by NLK.

The transparent service of NLK through improvised MIS provides online information to its clients and expects to provide global visibility and access of NLK through Internet based interfaces.
