Pre-Income and Employment Verification workshop for VST III (VST 2023) was conducted on October 8 and 10, 2023 in Madhesh and Koshi Province, respectively covering all 61 training and employment service providers (T&Es). Under Sub-Component 1.3 Decent Jobs of RERP, this workshop aimed to prepare them for the 3-month Employment Verification where 15 to 25 percent of graduates from each T&Es are verified. Participants included executives or representatives from the T&Es, Project Management Office and SAMRIDDHI/Helvetas team. Focal persons from five Local Governments in cost-collaboration partnership for VST III were also present in Koshi Province workshop.
During the event in Koshi, Mr. Santosh Kumar Baidya Tamang, Sr. PME & KM Specialist from RERP(SAMRIDDHI), provided welcome remarks and emphasized the workshop's objective and the collaborative approach of sub-components in achieving the project goal. Technical assistance (TA) team discussed potential evidences for various occupations to streamline the Income Verification process as well as for potential scenarios (WHAT IFs).
The primary objective of the workshop was to establish a shared understanding on the Income verification process and initiate an evidence-based and digitalization of the monitoring and verification process. The open discussion, facilitated by Program Officer and Cluster Monitoring Officers, revolved around considering timelines for timely Income Verification. Action plans from the T&Es were collected, and the utilization of the KoBo platform for verification was also introduced and briefly explained.
