RERP, Koshi- Sagarmatha Corridor Office on 21st January, 2018 organized multi-stakeholder workshop on migration at Hotel Pathibhara, Itahari, Sunsari. The program was chaired by Project Manager, Mr. Saroj Prasad Guragain.
The main objective of the workshop was to discuss on the challenges and opportunities in the migration sector in project working districts, make better coordination and exchange best practices and learning of migration stakeholders’ organization in supporting RERP working modality.
Discussion was focused on five major topics with the objective of generating ideas and knowledge in the formation of Migration Information Center (MIC) in project working areas such as;
1. How to collect and disseminate different information on migration using efficient media?
2. Appropriate locations in establishing MIC.
3. What major areas have to be covered on Financial Literacy?
4. Effective ways for coordination and collaboration with local level.
5. The mechanism on financial access by RERP.
Total 24 participants including stakeholders from working districts eg, from Safer Migration Project (SaMi), WOREC Nepal, Migration Association, Migration Returnees, Manpower agency and RERP from nine districts were presented in the one day workshop.
