Multi -Stakeholder workshop on Migration

Rural Enterprises and Remittances Project (RERP)/SAMRIDDHI Janakpur Corridor Office, Bardibas conducted one day- “Multi-Stakeholder workshop on Migration at Lalgadh, Dhanusha on Wednesday, 24 January 2018. During this one day workshop, stakeholders under Janakpur Corridor Office such as Safer Migration (SaMi) project members from Sindhuli, Dhanusha, Mahottari and Sarlahi district, returnees’ network from Dhanusha, Mahottari and Sarlahi districts. Pairabi Nepal from Sarlahi district, National Network for Safe Migration, Center for Migration and International Relations, NGO federation from Sindhuli, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi and Bara districts along with DCCI Okhaldhunga district were presented in the program.

Program’s focus was on sharing of project implementation modality from Jankpur Corridor. Migration related issues and challenges, gap analysis and way forward for sustainable, reliable and safer migration in the productive use of remittances was discussed during the program. SAMRIDDHI project technical staff members including of IFAD consultant Mr. Sanjeev Shrestha and Director of Centre for Migration and International Research Mr. Yub Raj Nepal facilitated the workshop.

Program was inaugurated by chief guest of the program, Mr. Bidur Kumar Karki, Mayor of Bardibas Municipality. During the program Mr Karki expressed commitment and support to Samriddhi project on behalf of Bardibas Municipality. Altogether 34 persons participated this migration workshop.
