RER-Project accomplished one day Migration Stakeholders' Consultation Workshop in all 16 project working districts in Province 1, 2 and 3 except in Terhathum, Saptari and Siraha.
The objective of the workshop was to introduce RER Project to the migration stakeholders, identify possible collaboration and partnership in migration activities implementation in the field level. The workshop also intended to identify the status in relation to the resources and skills to invest for enterprise promotion by migrant's families. Further, issues and challenges of migration, their social cost of migration in the household level, returnees knowledge and experiences from labor migration abroad was discussed together with stakeholders. The workshop also helped in identifying common interest of returnees and migrant's families, what initiatives have been undertaking by local level entities in addressing and managing migration issues through government plan and policy.Migration Stakeholders’ Consultation Workshops in different project working districts was able to draw attention from the stakeholders’ on Migration issues that RER- project is addressing.
Invitees for the workshop were - District Coordination Committee’s President, Municipality Mayors, Senior-most officer of Rural Micro-cottage and Small Industry Office, Chairperson of District Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Rural Municipality Mayors, Representative of District Administration Office, District level journalist and Member of civil society.
