17th Dec 2019, RERP Liasion Office: The Memorandum of Understanding signing event was organized between Rural Enterprises and Remittance Project (RERP) "SAMRIDDHI" And People Forum for Human Right (People Forum). During the event Mr Saroj Prasad Guragain on behalf of RERP and Dr. Shakuntala Uprety- Chairperson from People Forum joined hands for collaborative action.
People Forum for Human Right (People Forum) is a lawyer and law professional`s organization (NGO) established for the protection of human rights and promotion of rule of law in Nepal. The organization has unique experience in the field of legal aid, legal empowerment and policy advocacy, particularly in the issue of migration.
People Forum and RERP collaborated and established an institutional partnership in supporting migrant workers and their families' access to justice considering the following scopes:
1. Capacity building of MRC`s staff and stakeholders in Local Government under 14 Migrant Resource Center (MRC)s and Migration Information Desk (MID)s from 6 Projects district`s (Bara, Rautahat, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Terhathum and Okhaldhunga).
2. Providing free legal aid to migrant workers and backstopping counselors of MRCs/MIDs on legal matter as per the requirements.
