A 1.5-day Orientation for the Monitoring Officers of Vocational Skill Trainings (Under Sub-Component 1.3 Decent Jobs) was held on February 1st and 2nd, 2023 in Province 1 for a total of 15 participants. The objective of the event was to provide orientation on the monitoring processes to the Rostered Monitoring Consultants who can be assigned on a need-basis for the upcoming VST Round 3. The event aimed to ensure the quality of monitoring during the different stages of pre-training, during-training, and post-training.
On the first day, Sr. PME & KM Specialist, Mr. Santosh Kr. Baidya Tamang, introduced the components of RERP, highlighting its achievements, financial progress, challenges, and future plans. Cluster Monitoring Officers from both provinces explained the concepts of VST and Apprenticeship under Decent Jobs, and linked them with the concepts of Monitoring and Evaluation, Monitoring Framework, and Monitoring Processes. The day concluded with group work on the monitoring checklists.
On the second day, four groups presented the monitoring checklists, covering the pre-training to post-training stages. The context of the project with the Local Government was linked, and the database was thoroughly presented and practiced. Towards the end of the program, participants practiced filling out the monitoring checklists and discussed possible challenges in detail. The participants then shared their major learnings before the conclusion of the program.
