The Implementation Support Mission(ISM) supported Project Implementation in line with the redesign framework initiated from Feb 2018 and the Joint Review Mission of November 2017. The focus of ISM was also in the country's transition to federalism as the dominant context for future implementation arrangements of RERP.
Mission team members composed as; a) Mr Bashu Aryal, Country Program Officer, IFAD Nepal b) Mr Nigel Smith, Mission Leader and Project Management Specialist and c) Mr Sanjeev Shrestha, Business Development Consultant consulted GoN Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Supplies in Kathmandu. Mission team closely worked with Project Management Office (PMO) team in Itahari, Sunsari and followed further discussions with the implementing partners- Agriculture Enterprise Center (AEC) & HELVETAS Nepal.
In a note, ISM has noted that significant progress has been made since the first Joint Review mission of November 2017, the next 12 months remain a critical period for RERP in which it must accomplish a rapid rollout of high quality field activites at the same time naivgating the wider transition to federalism and the unavoidable changes this will bring at federal, state and municpal levels. Continued close support for GoN and IFAD is therefore vital during this period to convert this good start into tangible progress and momentum to deliver the overall project results.
