Workshop for two-days at Surket was organized by Adaptation for Smallholders in Hilly Areas (ASHA) on Feb-21 and 22,2021 with main objective to institutionalize cross learning-sharing emerging from the best practices. The Gender and Social Inclusion Experts and the associated team members from Adaptation for Smallholders in Hilly Areas (ASHA), Rural Enterprises and Remittances Project (RERP) SAMRIDDHI, Agriculture Sector Development Project (ASDP), and Value Chain for Inclusive Transformation of Agriculture (VITA) participated the workshop. The participants presented their project’s GESI implementation approaches, learning and way forward. All above projects presented the GESI strategy/guidelines, documents and the experiences.
The other discussion agendas of the workshop was on Gender Action Learning System (GALS) that has been effectively implemented by RERP. RER Project briefed on different tools of GALS implementing experiences. Presentation was made on Gender Review Budget (GRB) by the ASHA project. Further, the GESI Specialist Meera Mishra and Sashwati Mishra from IFAD virtually oriented the participants on project assessment and IFAD rating system for the GESI theme.
The workshop was closed by making following agreements among the participants:
1. The manuals, guidelines and other knowledge products prepared by project will be made available to all other projects for learning.
2. Each Project will be sharing the disaggregated data on thematic areas of GESI
3. Virtual meeting on GESI thematic COP in trimester basis will be conducted by RERP.
4. 8th National Intra-IFAD GESI Workshop will be organized by RERP after 6 November 2021
5. Next Intra- IFAD M&E Workshop will be organized by RERP during Mid-March 2021.
6. The GESI Experts will meet regularly on trimester basis which will be hosted by each project on rotation basis.
