MID rescues migrant labor in illness

Subodh Sah a resident of Raghunathpur, Garuda-09 Rautahat had moved out to Dubai for foreign employment. During his work term, he felt difficulty in his health and went through medical treatment. The doctor gave him a medical report of having nerve entrapment in his backbone. When he submitted the report to the employer his problem was not considered nor was he given sick leave. Subodh could not go to work around 22 days due to his illness. He shared his problem with his family members.

His brother in law Dipendra Sah traveled to Kathmandu to plea the same manpower company through which Subodh had gone to Dubai. Even after appealing Manpower Company multiple times no response was made. One day Dipendra had come to Area Ward Office in Chandrapur, Rautahat to issue his passport. He was sent to Migration Information Desk where the migration officer provided him counseling service.  Apart from that, he was also informed  about the services given to the contract period migrant labour in case of death, accident, injury, handicapped, dismissal and other issues. Dipendra remembered his brother- in law and told to the Migration Officer about his condition. After that, the MID started dealing in the case of Subodh Sah. He was sent with the entire details to the Center for Migration and International Relations (CMIR) for further consultation. The MID was also able to return him within a week. Subodh is very happy to be home after 17 months of his stay in Dubai. We have requested for his further compensation to the Foreign Employment Board.
