With an intention to develop "Local Resource Person"(LRP) in uses of modern agriculture tools and technology in vegetable farming, 5 days practical training was organized in Dhankuta-9, Belahara from 18th to 22nd Mangshir 2077. Participants covering eight districts, from project generated vegetable Producer Groups (PGs) members namely from─ Okhaldhunga, Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Sunsari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari and Sarlahi participated in the training program.
The program was commenced by the local representative of Dhankuta Municipality, Mayor─ Mr. Chintan Tamang. In a positive note Tamang appreciated the initiation by RER Project. He added, " This is exactly the nature of training we were wanting for our farmers because such practical training conducted from the field enables farmers to learn practically by doing".
Economic Development Section Chief including Jalpadevi Coop's Chairperson of Belhara village, Ward Representatives made their presence and RER Project staffs from Project Management Office(PMO) and K-S Corridor Office facilitated the training program. During the same event, modern agriculture tools and technology were also distributed to the project Producer Groups members of ─ Kranti and Suryamukhi Ardhabyabasayik Krishak Samuha.
RER Project organized this program with the technical support from Nepal Agro Live Private Limited Kathmandu, Nepal. A total of 20 participants from PGs members were capacitated during the program. This training will help trainees to develop skills and sufficient knowledge as the local resource persons in preparing Plastic House (Tunnel), Plastic Pond, Drip, Mulching including Nursery applying modern vegetable farming methods.
