RERP project and District Chamber Commerce and Industry organized one day district start up workshop in Udayapur on 8th September 2017. Recently elected local level personnel, district governmental and non-governmental organizations, Members of Banks and MFIs, Media, Migration Associations, RERP team, DCCI members including relevant organizations members were presented in the workshop.
During the workshop information was disseminated to district level stakeholders on RER project. RERP working modality, strategy, cost and financing, funding mechanism, information on project partner organizations was presented to the stakeholders. This project start up workshop also made further coordination and linkages with various organizations working in enterprises development, livelihoods, market and business development, safer migration and financial sector in the districts.
The formal program was chaired by district chamber of commerce and industry’s chairperson and District Coordination Committee’s chairpersons were invited as a chief guest. Mr Chandra Man Shrestha Chief District Officer (CDO) of Udayapur during the formal session expressed that the government organization is compelled to send youth in foreign employment instead of creating favorable working environment in home country. Appreciating the presence of RERP project in Udayapur district Mr Shrestha added RERP’s role can be imperative in creation of local employment. Similarly, Local Development Officer Mr. Ganesh Prasad Dahal committed his support to RERP project personally also through district governmental organization. RERP project manager Mr. Saroj Prasad Guragain addressed the program and urged for necessary support from district stakeholders. President of District Coordination Committee, Udayapur Mr. Khadga Bahadur Pariwar expressed his commitment in supporting and coordinating the project.
The query from the floor was addressed by RERP thematic team leaders and Project Manager on the issues raised by participants.
