RERP project and District Chamber Commerce and Industry organized one day district start up workshop in Sunsari district 11th September 2017. Recently elected local level personnel, district governmental and non-governmental organizations, Members of Banks and MFIs, Media, Migration Associations, RERP team, DCCI members including relevant organizations members were presented in the workshop.
During the workshop information was disseminated to district level stakeholders on RER project. RERP working modality, strategy, cost and financing, funding mechanism, information on project partner organizations was presented to the stakeholders. This project start up workshop also made further coordination and linkages with various organizations working in enterprises development, livelihoods, market and business development, safer migration and financial sector in the districts.
The formal program was chaired by district chamber of commerce and industry’s chairperson and District Coordination Committee’s chairpersons were invited as a chief guest.
Deputy Chief of Itahari, Sunsari Sub municipality MRs. Laxmi Kumari Gautam spoke that the project should be able to create employment in local level so that the youth can be employed. Further, Mrs Gautam committed to support the project. Guests and participants in the workshop appreciated that RERP project has been started in right time to address the issues related to migration. Participants highlighted that the eastern region has many potential for agro-production, livestock, cash crops, agro and forest based enterprise development and suggested to work transparently with good coordination. In the workshop, token of thanks was expressed towards Nepal Government and RERP project for the initiative on imperative issue of current day Nepal.
The query from the floor was addressed by RERP thematic team leaders and Project Manager on the issues raised by participants.
The total 118 numbers composed of 92 male and 26 female participated in the venue- Sunsari Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (DCCI) hall in Sunsari district.
